What tracking presentations, participation, and advocacy can do for NCAP?

Share our Mission – Helping People. Changing Lives. Engaging communities to alleviate poverty. Sharing and communicating NCAP’s mission is vital to educating the public on the why and how of the work that we do. This communication shares our objectives, goals, and methods in which we improve the lives of those we serve and make lasting change in our communities.

Lead to more funding – Funders agencies to demonstrate the depth of community partnerships and see the full picture of progress and change in a community. NCAP has many partnerships, training the participation in community initiatives is vital to continue and new funding.

Advance our cause by sharing data. Data tells our communities what we have done and the lives we have touched. It tells the story of those we have helped in a quantitative way. The more we share, the more community support we received, whether that is fundraising, volunteerism or other forms of support. 

It demonstrates transparency and accountability for the tax dollars that we spend. Transparency is the willingness to explain our critical data about our activities.  Accountability is the obligation to publish and make available data about our activities.  We do this by engaging in presentations, participating in focus groups, meetings, etc. with community partners, and advocating and educating for our mission and the people we serve.

 

Examples of types of activities that require documentation:

1. Giving a presentation to a unit of government – County Commissioners, City Councils, etc. This could be a formal presentation, a proclamation, etc. 

 2. A presentation to a civic club, Kiwanis, Rotary, etc. highlighting a program, or the agency in general. 

3. Attending a meeting with public schools on policy change or the startup of a new program.

4. Hosting an event at a county fair, training, etc. in which you make available information about the agency and a program.
